Me too! \nSo\, on 22nd October at the Royal Wells Hotel\, we’re partnering with the best of the best\, fashion illustrator Connie Lim\, and pre-loved retailer\, Through Your Wardrobe\, to bring you a one of a kind guided fashion illustration experience! ✏️💃 \nDoors open at 5:30pm for arrival drinks and canapés\, with the evening starting at 6:00pm. \nThis time\, we’re diving into proportion\, so expect even more tips and tricks as you sketch\, plus a live Q&A with Connie and the Through Your Wardrobe team. Ask them anything\, stories from the runway\, the secret to drawing hands (this is my question!)\, how to style pre-loved pieces\, whatever you want to know. Send me your questions ahead of time or fire away on the night. \nOur live model\, Federica Magistrali\, will then step out in a series of stunning outfits while we pick up a pencil and sketch each pose\, guided by Connie 🙌 \nTrained at Central Saint Martins and the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena\, Connie has worked for Chanel\, Dior\, Miu Miu and Alexander McQueen\, features in Taschen’s The Illustrator: 100 Best from Around the World\, and has shown her work in galleries internationally. ✨ \nConnie will meet us where we are and guide us through at our own pace\, whether you’re unsure of how to hold a pencil (like me!!) or are a life drawing regular. SUMMARY:October half-term family fun: steam trains\, spectacular LEGO® displays and free child travel at Spa Valley Railway
DESCRIPTION:Make the most of October half term with a full family day out at Tunbridge Wells West on 24 and 25 October\, combining steam-train travel with imaginative LEGO® displays. Both train travel and entry to the Model Bricks Galore exhibition are FREE for children aged 15 and under when accompanied by a paying adult. \nThe event combines a heritage train journey through the High Weald with an exhibition of imaginative model brick creations. \nTaking place inside the historic Engine Shed at Tunbridge Wells West\, the event will bring together a wide range of displays created by talented Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOLs)\, including moving railway scenes\, detailed locomotives\, aircraft\, vehicles\, cityscapes and original creations designed to inspire visitors of all ages. \nVisitors can combine time at the exhibition with a journey through the High Weald countryside aboard the railway’s heritage trains. \nServices will operate to the railway’s Green Timetable\, offering up to five return journeys during the day and giving visitors time to explore all four Spa Valley Railway stations: Tunbridge Wells West\, Groombridge\, High Rocks and Eridge. \nYounger visitors can also take part in a LEGO® Minifigure Hunt\, searching the exhibition for hidden letters to solve a railway-themed mystery word. Completed entries will be entered into a draw to win a Family Travel Ticket for use on a standard operating day during 2027. \nGeneral Manager Jonnie Pay said: “Model Bricks Galore is a brilliant October half-term day out\, bringing together two much-loved family activities: inspiring model brick displays and a journey on a heritage railway. It is a memorable way to spend time together this weekend.” \nTicket prices include Adult £18.00 and Senior (60+) £17.00. Both train travel and entry to the Model Bricks Galore exhibition are FREE for children aged 15 and under when accompanied by a paying adult. A Family Ticket for 2 adults and 2 children costs £36.00. All ingredients and sweets will be nut-free. Choose milk chocolate or the dairy- and gelatin-free dark chocolate (vegetarian) option when booking\, and request a pre-packed allergen-specific bag of sweets if required. \nEach workshop lasts approximately 30 minutes.
