Perspectives Art exhibition by students at Scotts Project Trust

2 July @ 10:00 am - 26 August @ 5:00 pm
Free

From octopus to fish, spring meadows to coral reefs – a nature-inspired exhibition in Tunbridge Wells will showcase the talents of adults with learning disabilities from a local charity.

In lush colour and a range of media, the ‘Perspectives’ exhibition at the Amelia Trust gallery will run throughout July and August in the Green Room.

The art students are at the well-known Scotts Project Trust in Tonbridge, which has been announced as one of the charities of the Mayor of Tonbridge and Malling for 2026-7. They have transformed their vision of the outdoor world into unique and beautiful artwork, all of which will be available for sale on the website at www.scottsproject.org.uk

Residents and day services users at Scotts enjoy regular art workshops to create multi-media and mixed media artworks including textiles, paint, textures, ceramics and papier mache.

Creating art is an immersive and therapeutic experience, a tactile and sensory process which encourages sharing and communication and helps with developing patience and dexterity. Art offers so much joy and self-expression to adults with learning disabilities and to everyone.

Alison, one of the artists, said: “I enjoy using the different techniques of art. I love that our work will be on display for the public to see. I like how we have done group projects together and made something as a team, as well as our own.”

The free exhibition can be viewed from July 2 to August 26 during Amelia opening hours. For more information on the exhibition please visit www.theamelia.co.uk
